The 18 plane squadron took off from E1 Toro, California, and landed at Atsugi Naval Air Station in Japan, after their 8493 miles flight. The fighter planes also known as Crusader Jets were re-fulled in the air from giant GV-1 Hercule flying tankers. During the transpacific crossing the fighters flew at 40,000 feet

Apart perform the speed in crossing from USA to Japan, the cost is only the one third of being brought to Kapan by an aircraft carrier. Two little Kinomo clad girls from the Yurikago Orphanage at Odwara, Which is supported by the Crussader Squardon were at Atsugi Naval Baseto welcome the flyers.
