A Chinese inmate uses a camcorder to take videos of a performance to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Tianhe TV Station at Tianhe Prison in Beijing, China, 27 November 2013. Inmates at a prison in Beijing celebrated the 10th anniversary of their own TV station on Wednesday (27 November 2013). The station, named Voice of Tianhe, was established in 2003 to ease psychological pressure of the inmates at Tianhe Prison through TV programs. Most of its staff members were inmates of the prison. The first program aired on November 27. The TV station was only equipped with a studio, a desktop computer, a home camcorder and some other simple devices at the beginning. But now, it has turned into a multifunctional prison TV station with 15 TV programs focusing on news, people, social phenomena and other topics covering more than 100, 000 prisoners in China. It was currently being updated for online media operation to bring modern and latest information to prisoners.
