A beautiful woodcut from 1493 of the destruction of Jerusalem. This illustration comes from the Nuremberg Chronicle, which is an enyclodpedia of world events, mythology and christian history. This extra-ordinary work was one of the earliest books ever printed and the first to successfully integrate text and images.
