The latest amendment to the Alamy contributor contract, published on 1 August 2025, includes important changes to our terms.
For Contributors who registered before 1 August 2025, the new contract will come into force on 15 September 2025, 45 days from the notification date of 1 August 2025. For Contributors who registered from 1 August 2025 onwards, the new contract was in force from the point of registration.
The key changes under this amendment are outlined below.

1.1. By Registering as an Alamy Contributor you agree that:

In accordance with section 72(1) of the Online Safety Act 2023, you have the right to bring a claim against Alamy for breach of contract where (i) Content is taken down, or access to Content is restricted in breach of the terms of this Contract, and/or (ii) where your Account suspended or terminated in breach of the terms of this Contract. The circumstances under which Alamy may remove or restrict access to Content are set out in clauses 2.3 and 21.2.3. "Contributor"
means the Copyright Owner or, if Registration has been completed on the Copyright Owner’s behalf by an authorised company or licensee, that entity. For the avoidance of doubt, if Registration is completed by an authorised employee on behalf of a company then that company is the Contributor. The term Contributor also includes the Contributor’s executors, administrators, heirs and assigns or successors in business.
"Contributor"
means the individual or entity which completed Registration and uploaded Content that has been accepted by Alamy for licensing in accordance with this Contract.
