The old town of Cuenca, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, sits embedded in a rocky landscape on a cliff between the gorges of the Júcar and Huécar rivers. The mighty cathedral towers above the townscape. The old town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. On the left, with its covered balconies, one of the Casas Colgadas (Hanging Houses) is home to the Museo de Arte Abstracto Español (Museum of Spanish Abstract Art).
