Living tradition: members of the Flößerzunft Oberes Nagoldtal (Upper Nagold Valley Rafting Guild) ride a real timber raft mounted on a trailer at the Schäferlauf 2024 parade in Wildberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany – 300 years of tradition since 1723. Log rafting on the Nagold was practised in the region from 1640 until 1911 and was recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2022. The parade is part of the Schäferlauf, recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2018.
