We know how important it is for our customers to have a range of checkout options, to make it as quick and easy as possible to purchase an image from Alamy. When you’re in a hurry to buy an image and don’t have the time to register for an account, our guest checkout service is the perfect option. Here’s a quick how-to guide:
1. Find your image
Head to the Alamy home page, pop what you’re looking for into the search bar and click ‘search’.
We’ve got a range of helpful filters to narrow down your search so the results show exactly what you’re looking for. You can filter your search by the number of people in the image, the image’s location, orientation, viewpoint and the date taken. 2. Pick the right license
Once you’ve selected the image you want to buy, you need to think about how you’re going to use the image and pick the right image license. To help you out, we’ve created some popular pricing options that cover some of the most popular ways our customers use images. These cover things such as using an image for personal use, in a presentation or on your website or social media channel.
Depending on the image you’ve picked, you may also have the option to choose your own rights-managed license or buy the image royalty free.

3. Check out
When you’ve selected the relevant license for your image, you’ve got 2 options when you come to check out depending on whether you’re buying one image or more.
- If you’re buying one image, all you need to do is click the ‘Download’ button and you’ll go through to the checkout page
- If you’re buying more than one image, you need to click ‘Add to Cart’ under the image and continue your image search to find the other images you need. Once you’ve added all the images to your cart, click the shopping cart button at the top of the page and click ‘go to checkout’
From the checkout page, simply enter your payment details – you can pay via PayPal, debit card or credit card – and then the email address you want the order confirmation to be sent to. Click ‘place your order’ and you’re done! There is an option to sign up for an account after you’ve checked out.
Top tip: When you’re checking out as a guest, make sure you download and save all of the image files you’ve purchased straight from the order confirmation page. Once you leave the order confirmation page, you won’t be able to go back it.
