. The glass-fronted JD Sports flagship-style shop entrance features a large white JD logo and the words King of Trainers. Shoppers and pedestrians walk outside the multi-storey retail frontage in Liverpool ONE. The entrance carries the large white JD emblem and the words KING OF TRAINERS on a dark glazed façade. People walk across the paved Liverpool ONE shopping area in front of the store, with displays and entrance doors below the branding. This is a clear exterior view of a sports fashion chain embedded in a busy city-centre pedestrian shopping environment. The JD Sports shopfront has large white JD letters on a dark upper façade and the slogan KING OF TRAINERS above the doorway. Several groups of shoppers move across the pedestrian area, while merchandise and bright retail lighting are visible behind the entrance. The broad modern frontage belongs to Liverpool ONE. The building’s dark glazing, brand identity and busy pavement document the presentation of a major sports-fashion retailer. Green tones dominate the painted background and the human figure wears a red dress and carries a red-toned floral motif. The mural is spread across the exposed side of a residential-looking building above a fenced compound. Birds and swirling pale forms occupy the upper portions of the wall. It is an example of public artwork that transforms a blank gable into a full-height illustrated composition. The fencing, building roof and open ground indicate how the large image sits within its immediate streetscape. Physical signage must compete with neighbouring merchandise and the visual clutter of a busy shopping environment. The giant JD initials are mounted high above a doorway under the words KING OF TRAINERS. Glass upper-storey panels reflect nearby buildings, and pedestrians cross the light-coloured paving, some moving towards the entrance and others continuing through the Liverpool shopping area.
