. An EasyGo-branded GO electric-vehicle charger is installed at Bray waterfront, with charging cables and green-and-white branding visible beside public parking. The unit forms part of the growing network of street and destination charging for electric cars in Ireland. Competition between EV charging operators is increasing as electric-car ownership grows and local authorities seek more public charge points. Networks must balance charging speed, payment access, maintenance and parking turnover. Seafront locations such as Bray are useful for destination charging because vehicles may remain parked while drivers spend time in cafes, shops or on leisure activities. EasyGo is one of the private charging brands competing for drivers in an expanding Irish EV market. The tethered cables and prominent green markings distinguish the equipment from a conventional parking meter and signal that the bay has an energy function as well as a parking function. Public chargers are particularly important in apartments and older streets where residents may have no driveway on which to install a private home charger. Different charging brands in the same town show a market developing beyond a single national provider, with apps and roaming arrangements becoming part of the driver's experience. Charging infrastructure replaces a simple parking bay with electrical equipment, cabling, payment technology and maintenance obligations, so the transition to electric motoring changes ordinary streets as well as vehicles. Kerbside and destination chargers are particularly important for people living in flats or older terraced streets who cannot install a private charge point at home. Public EV charging is most valuable where drivers naturally leave a car for long enough to add useful range, making town centres, seafronts and leisure destinations logical locations. The charger is shown in an ordinary parking environment, making the practical change to the street easy to see.
