Limited-edition PETRONAS Syntium oil drum displays an image of a black-liveried Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One racing car. The cylindrical 200-litre barrel has a white upper section carrying the turquoise PETRONAS name and large gold SYNTIUM lettering, while the darker lower section shows the single-seater approaching head-on with its front wing, tyres, halo and turquoise detailing. A circular “Winning Formula” emblem and smaller “Special Edition” wording reinforce the promotional connection between a road-car lubricant brand and international motor racing. PETRONAS Syntium is a range of automotive engine oils produced by PETRONAS Lubricants International. The Malaysian energy company has served as title and technical partner to the Mercedes works Formula One team since 2010, supplying fluid technology developed for demanding racing conditions. The partnership became closely associated with the team’s championship era, during which Mercedes secured eight consecutive Constructors’ titles from 2014 to 2021 and seven consecutive Drivers’ crowns from 2014 to 2020. Limited-edition Formula One-themed barrels were supplied to automotive workshops and motor factors during a UK trade promotion in 2020. Their decoration turned a functional bulk lubricant container into branded garage display material, linking everyday vehicle servicing with the engineering performance and technology of Grand Prix competition. The pictured container shows surface wear, rust staining and workshop marks around the lid and base, suggesting practical use or prolonged storage rather than a pristine advertising exhibit. Photographed indoors against plain walls, the barrel provides an example of petroleum-product packaging, automotive trade marketing and sporting sponsorship. It also shows how Formula One imagery is used commercially to communicate reliability, high performance, heat control and technical credibility to mechanics, motorists and oil buyers
