Businesspeople in suits pray together in front of Kumano Hongū Taisha, Tanabe, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. Such group prayers ask for success, prosperity and protection for a company, often at the start of the year (Hatsumōde) or before major projects – Shinto deities such as Ebisu, the god of commerce, are worshipped specifically for business success.
