A wooden Kumano Kodo signpost marks a road above Tanabe, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, cedar- and cypress-covered hills stretching to the horizon. The trail forms part of the Nakahechi route through the UNESCO-listed Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range.
