A mural on a house on Haitostraße in Mittelzell shows a Benedictine monk holding a crozier in front of a church, with the inscription "Ora et Labora" (pray and work) beneath it. The depiction possibly refers to Abbot Hatto III, who led Reichenau Abbey from 888 to 913 and later became Archbishop of Mainz. A sundial with Roman numerals is worked into the mural.
