The Hochwarthaus was built in 1839 by Privy Councillor Eugen von Seyfried as a picturesque tea house and sits enthroned on the highest point of the island, about 40 metres above Lake Constance, with a panoramic view over Untersee, vegetable fields and the Rhine. Today it serves as a ceramics studio and also as a tea room again. On the island of Reichenau in Baden-Württemberg, visitors enjoy the view from Hochwart.
