Colourful railway travel poster promotes Knutsford as a destination on the Mid Cheshire Line, using the slogan “Meander the Mid Cheshire Line and enjoy marvellous days out”. The framed artwork is mounted against red brick and combines a stylised Cheshire townscape with bunting, flowers, traditional shopfronts, a Union flag, a hanging sign and a bird in the foreground. Its bold cream, red, green and blue palette deliberately recalls classic twentieth-century British railway advertising, presenting rail travel as an enjoyable way to explore an attractive historic market town. The design is part of the Marvellous Days Out campaign associated with the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership. The poster artwork was created by Chester artist Nicky Thompson, whose illustrated series celebrates destinations along the railway between Manchester, Stockport, Altrincham, Knutsford, Northwich, Delamere and Chester. The Knutsford image encourages leisure passengers, families, walkers and day trippers to arrive by train and discover the town’s independent shops, cafés, Georgian buildings, heritage attractions and welcoming streets. Knutsford railway station is on the Manchester to Chester route via Altrincham. From the station, visitors can walk through the town centre towards the King Street entrance to Tatton Park. The historic estate includes a neo-classical mansion, landscaped gardens, a working farm, the Tudor Old Hall and around 1, 000 acres of deer park. The poster therefore connects sustainable public transport with local tourism, heritage, countryside access and car-free days out. This documentary image is suitable for editorial coverage of community rail partnerships, railway destination marketing, regional tourism, public transport promotion, British poster design, visitor attractions, Cheshire travel, station art and campaigns encouraging people to explore towns and landscapes by train
