The L-4 Cub, or 'Grasshopper' so called because of its short take off and quick climb capabilities. This L-4 entered WWII in 1944 being assembled from a crate in Italy which had been shipped from the United States. It was assigned the service number 44-79897 and assigned initially to the 12th Air Force for army ground forces. The aircraft is now privately owned.
