Windmill Hill, West Ilsley Downs, Berkshire, 1890s. Women and children walking in the beautiful landscape of the West Ilsley Downs. A meandering path leads the eye on towards the windmill on Windmill Hill. It seems that the windmill fell into disrepair soon after, by 1907. The unfenced Downs were huge sheep pastures.
