Train passes through the Bridge on the River Khwae, part of the Death Railway a 415 km railway between Ban Pong, Thailand, and Thanbyuzayat, Burma, built by the Japanese in 1943 using forced labour to support its forces in the Burma campaign of World War II. Over 100,000 slave labourers and prisoners of war are believed to have died during it's construction. The bridge was immortalised in the 1957 movie 'Bridge on the River Kwai'.
