Saint-Simonism was an ideology based on a socio-economic and political doctrine, the influence of which was decisive in the nineteenth century. It takes its name from the count of Saint-Simon (1760-1825). His disciple or supporter is called "Saint-Simonian." It can be considered as the founding thought of French industrial society.
