Although just two days after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, flags were not at half mast. Flags were half-masted, from her death to after the State Funeral with the exception of 10 – 11 September when they were raised to mark the proclamation of King Charles III. This image shows the four turreted White Tower at the heart of the Tower of London. The White Tower was built by William the Conqueror in 1078.
