During the largest heat-day, a giraffe in the South African part of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park lingers in the shade of a tree, taken on 24.02.2019. The Giraffe (giraffa) belongs to the pairhorses and with a weight of up to 1600 kg and a body height of up to six meters (bulls) is the highest land-living animal dar. Despite their length, the giraffe's cervical spine has only seven accordingly large vertebrae, whereby the neck is held by only one tendon.
