This is the bar that is frequented by both the fictional character Inspector Rebus in Ian Rankin's crime novels and by the author himself. Ian Rankin is the UK's No. 1 bestselling crime fiction author and is well known for his Inspector Rebus novels based in and around Edinburgh, Scotland. His more recent books include "Fleshmarket Close", "A Question of Blood", "Resurrection Men" and "The Falls". His novels have recently been dramatised on TV. He has also produced "Rebus's Scotland" with the photographers Tricia Malley and Ross Gillespie who are responsible for many of his book covers.
