The old, abandoned Milwaukee Road railroad tracks, up on Spire Rock Flats, on a cold winter afternoon, near Pipestone, in Jefferson County, Montana. The tracks originally serviced mines in the area, none of which are still in commercial operation. The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad ( Milwaukee Road) opperated in western Montana as part of its Pacific Extension from 1909 until 1980.
