Month-cone rather sharp, almost reaching acrossprosternum ; maxillary palpi long, 3-jointed, the jointsbeing approximately subequal in length. Antennae abouttwice as long as the head ; segment 3 small, pedicellate ; 4egg-shaped, about as broad as 2; 5 cylindrical; 6 broadlyunited to 5, sides of basal half subparallel, thence converging Fig. 1.. Ceratothripoides brunneus, sp. n., $ . Right antennae, X c. 200 diam. to base of 7. Bifurcate sense-trichome on 4 and a single orsimple tiichome on 5 at outer side. Relative lengths ofantennal segments as follows:—11 : 15 : 11 (with pedicel) :18 : 22 : 0 : 6. Prothorax slightly longer than the head, about 1*5 timesas broad as long; hind angles broadly rounded, each furnishedwith two strong setae, the inner longer than the outer andabout 06 the length of the protiotnm. Surface weaklystriate transversely; sparsely spinose ; spine on each side ofmedian line of posterior margin about 03 the length of theinner postero-angular seta.
