The miracle was that in 1893 the bridge withstood the unusual stress test before the inauguration: three steamroller, six four-horse wagons, three stone-laden streetcar lorries, a crowded tramcar, four filled waterwheels, a company of soldiers, several carriages and horses, and 150 volunteers.
