RM2HX5K6F–Ancient Almshouses of England: Castle Rising Norfolk. In the garden -- close to the ancient parish church of Castle Rising, Norfolk, is the Hospital of the Holy and Undivided Trinity. Founded by Henry Howard, Earl of Northampton, early in the seventeenth century the old hospital, a fine example of Norfolk, red-brick building, still provides quarters for ten aged women and a Governess. Our photograph shows some of the residents at work in their garden with the parish church of St. Lawrence in the background. April 03, 1939.
