Lucy Meadows was a transwoman and teacher at St Mary Magdalen’s school in Accrington, Lancashire. She was found dead in a suspected suicide after unwanted media attention including a Daily Mail article written by Richard Littlejohn suggested that Ms Meadows was in the wrong job. The vigil was called by campaigners who said they wanted to show the Daily Mail that transphobia is unacceptable and has tragic consequences.

Lucy Meadows was a transwoman and teacher at St Mary Magdalen’s school in Accrington, Lancashire. She was found dead in a suspected suicide after unwanted media attention including a Daily Mail article written by Richard Littlejohn suggested that Ms Meadows was in the wrong job. Lucy Meadows was a transwoman and teacher at St Mary Magdalen’s school in Accrington, Lancashire. She was found dead in a suspected suicide after unwanted media attention including a Daily Mail article written by Richard Littlejohn suggested that Ms Meadows was in the wrong job. The vigil was called by campaigners who said they wanted to show the Daily Mail that transphobia is unacceptable and has tragic consequences.
