A sculpture depicting the Codex Amiatinus, oldest surviving single-volume Latin Bible in the world, on display outside of the University of Sunderland by the River Wear. Three versions of the Bible were written by Saxon monks at the nearby at the twin monastery of Wearmouth-Jarrow in the 8th century.
