This photo of a house in the Nova Scotian town of Lunenburg dates to october 2019. Lunenburg is a port town on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada. Founded in 1753, the town was one of the first British attempts to settle Protestants in Nova Scotia intended to displace Mi'kmaqs and Acadians. The architecture is unique: The mundane five-sided Scottish dormer is the central dormer and has, by hands of local craftsmen, been forever transformed into architectural legend, and it's only in Lunenburg. Lunenburg is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
