Eisenhower from 1953 to 1954, returned to flight on March 19, taking off from an airport in Marana, Arizona. On March 22, the Constellation, or 'Connie' as they were nicknamed, which was named Columbine II by First Lady Mamie Eisenhower after the state flower of Colorado, began the cross-country journey to Bridgewater, Virginia to undergo a complete restoration.
