Both supermarkets have stores situated close to each other in Sheerness, but Aldi wanted to close its Sheerness branch and build a new, more modern and bigger store at Queenborough. However, despite Aldi having secured permission and about to proceed with construction - Tesco has now had Aldi's original permission quashed via Judicial Review.
