Donald Hume, the 39 year old Briton, told his murder trial in Switzerland yesterday that he was nearly lynched by an angry crowd who closed on him after taxi driver Arthur Maag had been shoot dead. and 25 year old Gustav Angstmann, who said he jumped on Hume and disarmed him after a chase through Zurich, described how the crowd attacked his prisoner. Earlier, the shooting of Maag had been described by Ulrich Fritze, 16 year old bank apprentice who said he trailed Hume all the way after the robbery

RME0RHYA–Sep. 24, 1959 - Donald Hume charged with murder in Switzerland - 39-year old Briton, Donald Hume, appeared at Winterthur, Switzerland, today - charged with the murder of a Zurich taxi-driver during a bank raid last January. He was escorted to the court by five armed guards, one carrying a machine gun. Hume was questioned in court about his connection with the murder of Stanley Setty. (Hume was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment in 1950 for being an accessory after Setty's murder).
