Allegory of Abuses by the Authorities of Church and State, The Haywain: an allegory of worldly and spiritual abuse. Central is a hay wagon managed by devils. The hay symbolizes worldly possessions. Around the wagon, people from all walks of life try to get hold of hay. Bottom left of Death, to the left of the carriage is the pope with a cardinal, a bishop and a monk. In addition, a procession of knights comes over. On the right a procession in which a model of a church is worn, behind it crippled and beggars. It is part of the Stonehenge and Avebury Sites and was constructed in several stages between c.2400–2300 BC. At 39.3 metres (129 ft) high, it is the tallest prehistoric man-made mound in Europe
