The future 32nd President of the United States first came there in 1924 to help treat his infantile paralysis (polio) with therapeutic spring waters, and later he had this Colonial Revival-style home built on Pine Mountain. After FDR's death at Warm Springs in 1945 during his fourth term in office, the house with its original furnishings and the surrounding grounds were opened to the public as an historic site.
