The Supermarine Spitfire Mark V introduced in 1941, was the most numerous mark of Spitfire with a strengthened fuselage, various Merlin engines and three different armament fittings; many were equipped to take bombs, usually either 250 or 500 lb types and a drop tank. The Mk V outclassed the Messerschmitt 109E, held its own against the later 109F. The British single-seat fighter aircraft was used by the Royal Air Force and other Allied countries before, during, and after World War II. It was the only British fighter produced continuously throughout the war, albeit in many marks (versions). Bundeswehr soldiers try on 16 February 1979 to free the Hamburg-Hannover motorway with recovery tanks from the snow. The drop in temperature on December 29, 1978, led to snow chaos in northern Germany, the north of the GDR, Denmark, and southern Sweden. Partly the traffic and the power supply collapsed, localities were cut off from the outside world. In the Federal Republic alone, 17 people were killed because of the snow chaos. On February 14, 1979 dense snowfall and a gale-force storm in northern Germany led to another snow chaos. | usage worldwide Stock Photohttps://www.alamy.com/image-license-details/?v=1https://www.alamy.com/bundeswehr-soldiers-try-on-16-february-1979-to-free-the-hamburg-hannover-motorway-with-recovery-tanks-from-the-snow-the-drop-in-temperature-on-december-29-1978-led-to-snow-chaos-in-northern-germany-the-north-of-the-gdr-denmark-and-southern-sweden-partly-the-traffic-and-the-power-supply-collapsed-localities-were-cut-off-from-the-outside-world-in-the-federal-republic-alone-17-people-were-killed-because-of-the-snow-chaos-on-february-14-1979-dense-snowfall-and-a-gale-force-storm-in-northern-germany-led-to-another-snow-chaos-usage-worldwide-image228885270.html

Nicola Sturgeon's successor should drop plans for a National Care Service (NCS), Scottish Labour and the Liberal Democrats have said.
