Pumpkin: Prizewinners in a competition sponsored by Garden News to find the Country's biggest vegetables, were on display today at Fisons Garden Centre, Wigmore-street. One of the giant exhibits on display was a pumpkin, weighing 159 lbs, with a circumference of 84 inches, which was grown in a garden measuring only 9 feet wide, by Mr. W.E. RME10KM0–Jul. 07, 1973 - This enormous specimen of a mushroom; was found by Brigitte Friedl (our picture) in the woods near her home in Grasbrunn, situated in the vicinity of Munich. The mushroom is so big, that it'll do for a meal even for a large family, weighing 1760 grams. The stem's circumference is 31 centimeters, its height is 20 cm; the circumference of the cap is 29.5 cm. What a giant among mushrooms, certainly specimens of this size are only seldom found.

Surely it is good exercise making also lots of fun as can easily be noticed by taking a good look at the curling scene, i.e. the Bavarian type of it called ''Eisstockschiessen''. The ''Esisstock'' is somewhat differently shaped than is the curling club and it is made of hard wood, rimmed with a metal ring on the disk's circumference. This type of sport is in Germany highly favoured especially by the older generation.
