Sarah Gregory ran a grocer's shop in Blackburn, Lancashire, UK, with her husband Charles Gregory, who took the photo. Alfred Gregory would go on to be a mountaineer and in charge of stills photography on the 1953 British Mount Everest Expedition which made the first ascent of Mount Everest. Ida Gregory, with her brother and her husband, started a travel agency after World War 2. Charles Gregory died as a soldier in World War 1 in 1918.
