RMJWKKHX–JK is identifies as a calalai, a trans man. The calalai don't have a specific role in the Buginese community as the calabai do, but they are integrated in the community. JK doesn't like to cook, so he buys his food from street sellers.
RMJWKKH0–Ibu Haji Idha, the chief of the transgender community in South Sulawesi, is a successful business woman. As most of the approximately 10000 calabai living in South Sulawesi, she has a wedding organizing company, continuing the Buginese tradition in which all weddings were organized by calabai. She started her wedding organizing business in 1978 and is currently one of the most famous in the area, with orders coming from all over Indonesia, from Bugis families which have moved to distant places.

RMJWKKK9–When it comes to the bride's makeup; Ibu Haja Hasna prefers to do the things on her own. Traditionally; the calabai is the one doing the bride's makeup; explains Ibu Haja Hasna. She said that this is not a usual makeup and that she fasts before every bridal makeup session and prays while performing the makeup. This will make the bride look even more beautiful than she is and give her a special aura.
RMJWKKJE–Ibu Haja Hasna is another successful transgender woman owning a wedding organizing business in South Sulawesi. She has started her beauty saloon and wedding organizing company in 1976, one of the oldest and most famous in the area of Sidrap where she lives. She has won numerous regional and national awards in Bugis traditional wedding makeup competitions, which are displayed in her saloon. Nowadays, Ibu Haja Hasna prefers to supervise the work of her employees in the beauty saloon. She selects her employees from the students attending the free traditional Buginese makeup classes she organizes
RMJWKKHF–After finishing work, Eka chats with Ilha, her ex partner, with whom she is still friends. In the Buginese tradition, calabai can be partners with men for a certain.time agreed by both of them. After that period of time, the calabai has to allow her partner to marry a cis-woman and sponsor his wedding party. After that, the calabai can find another partner. Allowing her partner to marry a cis woman is regarded also as a proof of moral strength of the calabai.
RMJWKKJG–Ibu Haja Hasna and one of her employees discuss about the decorations at the site of an upcoming wedding event. Usually the weddings happen in a tent close to the bride's family house, which is entirely built and lavishly decorated by the wedding planner.
RMJWKKH6–Wanda is a young self taught makeup artist in Sidrap. She is very talented and in the 3 years since she opened her beauty saloon, her popularity quickly increased. She has 2 employees, both of them transgender women, as she believes that clients prefer their makeup and hairstyle done by calabai. She hopes to be able to open soon a complete wedding organizing business.
