RFTAPMKN–An attendant holds onto a young American man who lies on his back, grabs two metal handrails, and leans his head back in the traditional upside-down way to kiss the famous Blarney Stone high in the tower of Blarney Castle in County Cork, Ireland. It has long been a tradition for visitors to the 15th-Century castle to climb the narrow steps to reach the famed block of limestone on the battlements that extend out from the tower. Iron bars prevent the kissers from falling through the open space to the ground. Kissing the stone is said to bestow eloquence; in other words, give you the gift of gab.
