DeGlopper, a U.S. Army soldier who was awarded the U.S. Medal of Honor for his actions near Manche, France, on D-Day + 3, June 9, 1944. A member of the 82nd Airborne Division, DeGlopper single-handedly laid down suppressive fire against a numerically superior enemy force, allowing his company to reach safety.
