The last sentence was carried out on 19 May. Four of the shot, Albert Botfield, William Symons, Herbert Morris and Lieutenant Eric Poole (the first officer to be executed) are buried in Poperinghe Military Cemetery. The cells in which the condemned were held can be visited and on the walls can be seen some of their last graffiti.
