Ruined Castle. Artist: Copy after John Sell Cotman (British, Norwich 1782-1842 London). Dimensions: Sheet: 8 1/16 × 10 11/16 in. (20.5 × 27.1 cm). Date: 1802-42. Areas of crude handling, and lack of finesse in the treatment of form and shadow, suggest that this drawing was made by a student copying a Cotman original. The latter returned to his home town of Norwich to run a school between 1823 and 1833, then moved back to London in 1834 to become drawing master at King's College School, retaining that position for the rest of his life. . The origin and history of the primitive Methodist Church . irit expressed itself in hard successful work near home, as well as inpassing resolutions at the first missionary meetings at Turnditch and Belper. :: * See ante, p. 184. 526 PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH. We have already referred in another connection to the missioning of Winster hyW. Alcock in 1821, and little more need now be added except to note the fact thata chapel was built in 1823 and enlarged in 1833. Hognaston, already named, was missioned by Belper as early as 1817. History of Spain. First Carlist War (1833-1840). Battle of Ormaiztegui (3 January 1835). The four liberal columns of Espartero, Jáuregui, Iriarte and Carratalá gathered together and occupied the hills of the town of Ormaiztegui, all of them under the command of General Carratalá. Knowing that Zumalacárregui's Carlist troops were close by, they decided to attack. After hard fighting, Jáuregui's troops had to retreat to Ordizia.
