On May 16.1848 the withdraw was rejected and thus provoked a popular uprising. The drawing shows the murder of the Prussian parliament Prince Lichnowsky and General von Auerswald. The uprising was put down with the help of Prussian and Austrian troops.

RMTA2106–Wilhelm Voigt (1849-1922), son of a German shoemaker. In 1906 he bought a Prussian officer uniform at a Berlin junk dealer. As a false 'Captain' rounded up a number of soldiers under his command, went to Koepenick on 16.10.1906, arrested the mayor and the cash cashiers and let them transported to Neue Wache in Berlin. Then he confiscated 4042.50 Goldmarks from the municipal treasury and disappeared. Voigt was pardoned after two years and became a folk hero.
