Big Centre TV The Goldmine Centre Walsall WS1 1RL UK. Recording of ‘The David Hamilton Show’ 2 March 2015. Big Centre TV is the new local television station for the Midlands – Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Solihull and The Black Country – operated by Kaleidoscope Television Ltd. The channel went on air on Freeview channel 8 at 6pm on Saturday 28 February 2015. The station serves a potential audience of 2.3 million around Birmingham and the Black Country. It will also be on Virgin channel 159 by the end of March 2015. Licensed by Ofcom in 2014, Big Centre TV is based in The Goldmine Centre, Walsall, which it shares with the performing arts school Walsall Studio School. It went on air only two and a half months after being awarded the contract when the previous licence holder, City TV, went into administration before broadcasting any programmes. The station is headed by former ATV and Central TV presenter Mike Prince, Director of Programmes, and former head teacher Chris Perry, Channel Director, a former school headmaster who has run the Kaleidoscope television archive.
