This image does not require a release for commercial use. Volcanic Ash from the Eyjafjallajökull volcano eruption has had a major impact on European and Atlantic flights from 15th April 2010, when air traffic was halted throughout the UK and, later, large parts of Europe. The eruption continues into May 2010 with major ongoing flight disruption. This image shows the culprit, volcanic ash dust, photographed under a polarising research microscope. This ash was collected at Hrutafell, Iceland, 20.4.2010.
