Miss Hall is today (Monday 16th November 1998) recovering after extensive surgery to rebuild her jaw, which was broken when she was hit in the face by a brick thrown from a motorway bridge at 10.30pm on Saturday. The brick went through the windscreen of her car at on the M602 in Salford, Greater Manchester. Miss Ponting, a trainee nurse, was sitting in the back of the car and stayed with Cathy and kept her calm until an ambulance arrived .See PA story CRIME Brick. PA photos
