In 1943 the villagers were moved from Tyneham village and Worbarrow Bay areas by Winston Churchill’s War Cabinet prior to the area being used for D-Day preparations. They never returned. Today Tyneham village and Worbarrow Bay is part of the Ministry of Defence Lulworth Ranges including Worbarrow Bay coastline
