The giant potato (Ipomoea mauritiana) is a type of morning glory plant. Like the sweet potato, it belongs to the Ipomoea genus. It grows as a vine. The tuberous root of Ipomoea mauritiana called vidari kand in Maharashtra. These roots are used along with milk in Ayurveda as a tonic and strength promoter. This climber is a lelative of the morning glory climber and has similar looking attractive flowers.
