Often mistaken as part of the adjacent Thian Hock Keng temple, a Unesco award winner, the Singapore Yu Huang Gong, or Temple of the Heavenly Jade Emperor, was gazetted a national monument in 2009. The old building complex has been totally revamped by traditional craftsmen from China, and it opened to the public again in 2015. This pagoda is very often incorrectly assumed and labeled as being part of the adjacent Thian Hock Keng temple.
