The Queen and Princess Margaret pause for a moment to wait for King Goerge VI to alight from a car as they arrive at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, London, to see a performance of the American musical 'South Pacific'. The occasion was a Royal Family party on the eve of the departure of Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh (who also attended the theatre) on their Commonwealth tour. It was the King's first visit to a theatre since his illness.
